 HOW I FOUND MY SELF-LOVE ( AND ITS NO EASY)

Have you ever felt like this when you see a mirror and yet it is not you?

I have done it. And many times.

Nowadays self love happens everywhere like on Instagram reels, on Facebook and many social media platforms. And the journey of self love is not easy.

For me self love is not in a face mask or a new lipstick. (Even though I LIKE BOTH).

I got my self love when I was alone, during some broken moments and most of all when I was having honesty.

MY BREAKING POINT

There was a time when I used to compare myself with others.

My skin was not flawless, my waist was not slim and my outfits…..they were also not trending. After every Instagram scroll I used to distance myself from myself.

One day I stood in front of the mirror and said:-

“I don’t want to feel like this anymore”.

That was my moment. And that’s where my journey of self love started.

WHAT SELF-LOVE REALLY MEANS (AND DOESN’T)

Self love doesn’t mean that we become perfect.

This is choosing yourself ————– especially on those days when I have doubts about myself

Self love is:-

  • Saying “no” without guilt
  • Getting ready for yourself or not for likes
  • Accepting yourself after looking in the mirror
  • Taking rest, being soft towards yourself

Self love is not:-

  • Having selfish attitude.
  • Looking happy all the time.
  • Showing fake confidence.

WHAT HELPED ME LOVE MYSELF AGAIN

These are some things that I tried and they helped me a lot:-

  1. Journaling

I started writing my feelings. Sometimes I feel low and sometimes I feel insecure. This helped me understand my emotions.

  1. Fashion for me

I dress up for myself, not for anyone else. Outfits express my mood and this feeling is best. If you feel good in your outfit, you automatically shine in groups of people.

  1. Social media detox

I removed those people who made me feel outcast and low. And followed those people who are real and inspire others.

  1. Mirror affirmations

Every morning I say a short line:-

“I am enough”

And instantly my confidence level starts increasing.

  • Creating boundaries

It is not important to give your emotions, energy or time to everyone. Saying “no” is also a form of self love.
